Today I started getting horrid cramps in my calves (apparently I’m not getting enough Potassium+Magnesium to make up for what you need.) Your daddy spent hours massaging my calves then went to Good Earth and bought out what looks like their entire vitamin selection, as well as three pounds of bananas and a bushel of spinach. We’re lucky to have someone as sweet and caring as him. Remember this when he’s freaking out over every scrape and bruise you get.
Seth, look what came in the mail today! Dad and Peter sent it. Dad also enclosed a list of links to what look like attachment parenting articles and studies - I’m torn from snickering and thinking he’s being really sweet.
…are you telling me there’s a SEX TAPE of my dad floating around?!
I feel…ill.
Did you figure out which table? So we sit there like…never? More important, who took video rather than STOPPING THEM?
Amets took it because she’s clearly twisted and this just fits into her…
You’d think my par…my dad could keep it in his pants for five freaking minutes! So, who all has seen it, and do dad and Peter know? Because you know Peter’s gonna flip out if he thinks anybody other than him is getting off on watching Dad.
And wow, I can’t believe I actually had to ever say that sentence. I need to bleach my brain.
-There’s random chit chat as everyone gets seated, and honestly, she’s surprised her father didn’t have more to say about the unpaid part of Seth’s internship. But she’s not going to complain. The smells aren’t too bad, and she’s maybe a little touched that there’s no meat on the table. When they start the first course, she looks over at Peter-
We’re looking for a midwife, since the baby’s developed enough to hear the heartbeat and everything. Plus, um, I kind of need to have some time to trust whoever it is. -She’s actually not sure how she’s ever going to trust a stranger. She barely trusts most people she knows, anymore- How did you and Scarlet pick? And what was her name? Did you get a chance to see if she’s still around?
-For some reason her father freezes in the middle of taking a bite of soup before calmly setting his spoon back in the bowl and toying with his napkin-
-Chris’ heartbeat skyrockets when Allison says Scarlet’s name and …that’s his fault. And yes, it’s harder than it was the first time they talked with Allison and Seth about this. But he’s not running from his grief anymore. So it hurts, but it’s bearable. Resting his hand on Chris’ knee under the table, he tells her-
My children were born in London, a stipulation of Scarlet’s father. But the midwife my brother and his wife used is still here. Her name’s Margaery. Julia was the same as you in that she contacted Margaery early on and wanted to have a relationship with the person she brought to her home.
I was here when Derek was born and Margaery’s very much into letting your body tell you what to do. Julia had planned a water birth but when the time came, she couldn’t stop pacing. Derek ended up being born on the stairs. Margaery took it all in stride. I’d recommend her but if you don’t click, I’m sure she’ll direct you to others that you might like better.
-she gets Margaery’s number- And she knows about…werewolf things, right? -she gets distracted by the fact her father’s entire body has tensed up and doesn’t seem like it’s going to be relaxing any time soon. She wonders if something has changed his support for their homebirth plans-
Pens and Needles over on Saredon. They’re a good group. And Qiana, one of the owners, doesn’t look like she’d be but she’s strict as hell. So it’s a good place to learn and hopefully get set up.
-Weirdly, he can’t seem to work up any emotion over it, one way or the other, but Seth and Allison seem excited enough-
I’m glad you’re getting to pursue it. I know that was something important to you. Are you planning on staying at The Sevens, or is this full time?
I’m doing both for now. It’s a six month internship and I won’t make any money for the first 100 tattoos after that so I’ll be sticking with The Sevens for a while.
Speaking of, Meg asked about you guys the other day, wondering when you were gonna swing by again.
-Dinner parties are not an appropriate time for an erection, Peter. This is what he tells himself when he starts imagining Chris backing him into a dark corner, all hot, bothered, and sweaty from dancing up on him. After sharing a look with Chris, he replies-
That might be something that could be arranged. Everyone to the dining room please. Chris, if you’ll bring the soup out, I’ll put the ravioli on and then we’ll be ready.

-For some reason her father freezes in the middle of taking a bite of soup before calmly setting his spoon back in the bowl and toying with his napkin-
-The house is filled with mouth-watering smells. Apple and butternut squash from the soup, spices tomatoes and garlic from the sauce, freshly baked bread from the oven, and Peter’s personal favorite …Chris a la carte.
He comes up behind his favorite, wrapping his arms around his waist and buries his nose in his neck. Peter may not be able to see it but he knows Christopher is wearing his barely there smile. Running his lips up and down the back of his neck, Peter tries to sneak a slice of bread only to get whacked on the knuckles with the flat of Chris’ blade.-
That’s not very nice, Christopher. I always let you sample.
-He brings Peter’s knuckles to his mouth and runs his tongue over them- Allison and Seth will be here any minute. You can sample then.
-He closes his eyes and just feels the warmth and pressure of Peter’s arms around him. He doesn’t want to admit it, but he’s afraid. Afraid that Peter’s recovery is just temporary. That if he gets used to it again, if he lets his guard down, that he won’t be prepared the next time Peter disappears from him. But Peter is the one thing he’s never been able to protect himself from.
He turns in Peter’s grasp until they’re facing, then cups his jaw in his hands and kisses him deeply. It’s not really sexual, although of course that’s there. It’s intimate, and open, and all the things Chris can’t verbalize-
-The doorbell rings while they’re still enjoying each other. Peter hums when Chris pulls away, reaching out to kiss him one more time.-
I love you -Because that’s exactly what that kiss felt like. Smacking his ass, he adds- Now go answer the door. I’ll finish in here.
-The door opens to reveal her father, and she examines him suspiciously as he ushers her inside. He looks okay, but she can’t keep their last dinner together out of her head. She examines Peter even more closely, when they congregate in the kitchen. He looks fine, too. She relaxes the stiffness in her shoulders, just a bit, but stays wary. She leans into the arm Seth puts around her and grabs a cherry tomato from the salad-
What have you guys been up to? Did we tell you Seth is interning at a tattoo shop now?
I think I’m going to go over to the house and talk to Peter myself.
-That doesn’t really surprise him. Allison has a low threshold for bullshit, especially when it affects people she cares about.-
You think you’ll really accomplish anything with your dad trying to play buffer?
-she taps her fingers on his chest- Maybe you should call and invite dad to go do some kind of “I fathered your grandchild” bonding activity. I could go visit Peter while he was with you. I don’t know. We can sleep on it.
